After 30 years of doing business at Carriage Square located in Taylorsville, Jeweled Maidens, one of the oldest metaphysical and magical stores in Utah, has found a new home in Murray. Jeweled Maidens began has a small New Age store called the Mind Mint and had two locations, one in Ivy Place Shopping Village at 2020 E. 3300 S. and another in Ivy Place Shopping Village at 4700 S. and 900 E. Shortly after opening, the 3300 S. store moved to Carriage Square, a shopping complex located at approx. 4100 S. and Redwood Road. The store changed unites three times within Carriage Square and finally ended up at #1765 W.
The Mind Mint partnership slit up and Joy Hoban, one of the owners of the Carriage Square store, changed it’s name to Jeweled Maidens. Over the years Jeweled Maidens became a unique go-to New Age/Magical store, offering books, jewelry, crystals, and music as well as sponsoring Psychic Fairs and hosting classes on diverse esoteric subjects. Joy Hoban, through Jeweled Maidens, was also one of the first people in Utah to introduce Reiki Healing therapy and training to the public. The current owner, Tamara Casazza, bought the store in 2000 and added a Neo-paganism touch the New Age/Metaphysical theme.
